The Skate

Springtime was the start of the competitions: skating, skateboarding, stickball, and street football. We were so excited to see the neighbors had blacktopped their driveway. It was a perfect day for smooth skating. Until the neighbors saw our curves and streaks. I'm guessing my parents paid for a redo, but they never told us. This piece uses millefiori, beads, ceramic tile, paint, and a dog collar to exalt the day.
