"Abstract In The Bamboo Grove"

This piece was created on a discarded sample cabinet door panel. The inset lent itself to a natural frame around it. I painted the “frame” then covered it with hand cut pieces of bamboo etched stained glass. The focal points are a cut Japanese plate center with multiple patterns. Materials also include metallic vitreous glass, stained glass and mini crystal glass. The Japanese plate was the inspiration mixing pattern and color.

“It’s that time of year again” was the winter. a time when I gather projects in varying states of completion and bring them out to work on again and hopefully finish. Often the works are just a pile of possible materials and substrates that I have loosely organized while waiting for the inspiration to gel.
