In early spring each year, soon after the breaking ice gives way to open water a pair of Common Loons briefly visit my pond. The eerie call of the loon assures me that spring is on the way. My mosaic is a loon is made of broken ceramic dishes, tile and stones. The Loon is mounted on an irregular shaped flag stone.
